Ngoc-Tran Vu
Ngoc-Tran Vu (b. 1988) is a Vietnamese multimedia artist, organizer, and cultural strategist based in Boston. Born in Sài Gòn and raised in Dorchester, her socially engaged practice explores memory, migration, diaspora, ritual, and intergenerational healing through photography, painting, installation, and public art. Rooted in community storytelling and collective memory, her work creates space for histories and voices often absent from the public landscape. Vu is the lead artist of 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial, a community-driven project working toward a permanent public memorial in Boston’s Little Saigon Cultural District. Across her creative and organizing practice, she brings together artists, residents, cultural organizations, and civic partners to explore belonging, cultural preservation, and the power communities hold to shape how their stories are remembered. She holds degrees from Brown University and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her work bridges art, civic engagement, and cultural memory.
