Job Overview

We are seeking reliable and skilled individuals to join the on-site de-installation crew for Laura Lima’s temporary art installation at the Boston Nature Center. This crew will collaborate with Mass Audubon staff and arborists from Hartney Greymont to ensure that all artworks are removed from the wooded urban wilderness, comprehensively and safely.

This is an outdoor, all-weather, on-site role that can include lifting heavy objects, simple carpentry de-construction, cutting textiles, and light wildlife remediation. Work gloves, hard hats, and hand tools will be provided.

While interest or experience in carpentry, landscape/arboriculture, and art handling would be fitting for this role, they are certainly not necessary. A love for being outside in the fall, an interest in working collaboratively, and a focus on physical safety are a must.

Responsibilities

● Assist with the de-construction and removal of organic sculptures from the natural environment

Work with natural materials and hand tools under the guidance of a site supervisor

Maintain clear communication and collaborate effectively with the team

Adapt to outdoor working conditions and variable weather

Work respectfully and professionally in an open environment where Mass Audubon patrons and visitors may be present during de-installation
