Downtown Detour

Begin your Downtown Detour at Patrick Martinez’s “Cost of Living”. Stroll down Arch Street, turn onto Milk Street, and follow State Street until you reach Marketplace Center. There, you’ll witness New Red Order’s “Material Monument to Thomas Morton,” waiting to surprise you.

From here, the adventure branches into two possibilities. For the Charlestown route, cross Atlantic Avenue toward Ferry and hop on towards Charlestown Navy Yard. Explore the creative worlds of Andy Li, Alison Croney Moses, and Evelyn Rydz at Lot Lab, then wander to the end of Pier 3 to find “Nomad 2” by Beatriz Cortez.

Or take the East Boston route! Make your way to Long Wharf (North) Pier, catch the ferry to East Boston Lewis Mall Wharf, and enjoy a scenic walk through LoPresti Park before heading up Liverpool Street to Maverick Landing Community Services for Gabriel Sosa’s Ñ Press. On Saturdays, you can roll up your sleeves for a free printmaking workshop from 12 to 6 PM.
