Learning

Creativity begins with curiosity.

Boston Public Art Triennial is committed to making bold, contemporary art accessible to learners of all ages. Through hands-on events, interactive resources, and collaborations with educators and community organizations, we create space for young people and families to imagine, make, and explore together.

Youth + Family Events

Held monthly across neighborhoods during the Triennial, our Youth & Family Events invite kids and caregivers to experience public art through creative play performances and art-making activities that connect to the themes of The Exchange. Current collaborators include Boston Children's Museum, Comics in Color, Mobile Makers Boston, The Gottabee's, and more. These gatherings are always free and open to the public.

Educator’s Guide

Designed for classrooms and community settings, our downloadable Educator’s Guide includes activity and discussion prompts, audio-visual materials and key terms to help connect public art to everyday learning. The guide explores six Triennial projects and invites students to explore the four pillars of The Exchange: Indigeneity, Climate + Biodiversity, Shared Humanity, and Health + Recovery.

Video Storytelling Series

Boston teens take the mic in our Video Storytelling Series, developed with the Triennial and produced by ZUMIX. In this five-part series, ZUMIX youth interview Triennial artists, give personal tours of installations, and share what public art means to them, behind and in front of the camera.
